Auto News: Ford Launches "Go Do Adventure" Contest

Where would you go for a week in a 2011 Explorer? Come up with the best idea for an American road trip--and Ford will foot the bill.

If you were given a new SUV for a week, where would you go, and what would you do? Ford is asking this question as part of its new "Go Do Adventure" program.

Come up with the most creative idea for a weeklong American road trip, and the company will provide a 2011 Explorer to take it in... and pay your expenses along the way.

Between now and 15 November 2011, road-trip hopefuls are invited to submit their stories in the form of essays, photos, and videos through the official Ford site or the Ford Explorer Facebook page.

If your idea is chosen, you and five friends and/or family members will get to live out your dream adventure--with all the fun captured on camera and documented online.

In collaboration with Outside Media, Ford judges will also select the most compelling stories to film, producing short films for distribution online and through traditional media. The content will ultimately be developed into a one-hour television special.

So, dream big. As it says on the Ford Explorer Facebook page, "If it's in your head, it could soon be on your calendar."
