Travel News: Wicked Campers Offers a Royal Road Trip

Clay pigeon shooting, castles, and the Cornish coast... Tour the British Isles on a unique 12-day tour this Spring.

By AT Staff

Here's some news for all you royal watchers among the road-trip crowd. British campervan company Wicked Campers has put together a 12-Day Royal Road Trip to celebrate all things British in tribute to the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton on 29 April 2011. The trip's itinerary includes key royal landmarks and discounts on fun activities as you tour the British Isles. "It's guaranteed to be a right royal laugh!" according to the company.

The complimentary navigation system in each uniquely decorated Wicked Camper contains a pre-programmed route. Start off at Windsor Castle, the Queen's favorite weekend home, and Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, the royal seaside palace where Queen Victoria lived. You'll then head west to the Cornish coast and up to the Royal Forest of Dean, also known as the Queen of Forests. Optional activities include visits to caves, lakes, and such suitably royal sports as clay pigeon shooting.

Watch the pomp and ceremony of the royal wedding from a country pub, before driving north to the Royal Family's Scottish holiday home, Balmoral Castle and St. Andrews University, where it all began for the royal pair.

Pick up a three-day Historic Scotland Explorer Pass for complimentary access to 78 properties in Scotland during your British Isles road trip, including castles, palaces, museums, and historic abbeys.

Each Wicked Camper is equipped with a bed, table, campstools, CD player and/or iPod connection, basic built-in kitchen, and storage space. Larger campers include a tent.
