Classic cars and more ice cream choices than you can shake a (fetching) stick at! The heat is on in Southern New Hampshire, which means the parking lot at Kimball Farm in Jaffrey is always crowded. And never more so than on Cruise Night, hosted on Wednesdays through September by the Monadnock Oldies Car Club.
When cruising around the Monadnock region in "his" midnight blue 1964 Corvair Monza convertible, Chaucer and Co. usually opt for a late lunch at Kimball's to avoid the ice cream rush hour. The ice cream at Kimball's is so good it won the best ice cream award from New Hampshire Magazine for the last two years. (The magazine also awarded Kimball's Best Lobster Roll for 2011--a highly competitive category in Northern New England.)
Unlike the original Kimball's that opened in Westford, Massachusetts, in 1939, the Jaffrey location has no "adventure-style" mini-golf or driving range, no bumper boat pond or batting cages.
