Pamper yourself Ritz-Carlton style, hobnob with a who's who of the international racing circuit, meet your favorite Formula One drivers.... About the only thing you won't be able to do, if you're the winning bidder for a special racing-themed travel package put together by The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore and the Singapore Grand Prix, is sit behind the wheel of an actual racecar. And it's all for a good cause.
As part of its Community Footprints program, The Ritz-Carlton is teaming up with the Singapore Grand Prix to auction a three-night stay during the Formula One Singtel Singapore Grand Prix on 23-26 September 2011.
The winning bid over SGD$20,000 (about $16,150) will be donated to the School Pocket Money Fund, established in 2000 by The Straits Times. The fund currently provides almost 11,000 Singaporean children from low-income families with pocket money for expenses such as bus fare to school and recess snacks. Without such donations, many needy students sit through class hungry or miss school on a regular basis.
The Grand Prix Suite Stay package includes a three-night stay for two guests in a Premier Suite overlooking the race circuit (worth approximately $4,900). A pair of three-day passes to one of the Club Suites (worth approximately $9,000) promises excellent views of the race as well. Each air-conditioned suite has a private outdoor viewing balcony, five-star menu, and dedicated bar with complimentary champagne and wine. The passes allow access to all entertainment zones within the circuit park.
To join in the ultimate A-list poolside party for the racing circuit, the winning bidder also receives a pair of three-day Podium Lounge passes worth approximately $650--plus, a pair of passes to the Drivers' Autograph Session and cocktail reception on 22 September.
Automotive travel enthusiasts who wish to bid should email Cheryl Ng, director of public relations for The Ritz-Carlton in Singapore, with "The Ritz-Carlton Singapore Grand Prix Suite Stay" in the subject header by 9 June 2011. The email must contain your bid in Singapore dollars (in excess of SGD$20,000), your full name, and valid contact information.
