Building more than 50 limited-production Turbine Cars and putting them in the hands of more than 200 motorists can certainly be seen in retrospect as having been audacious to say the least. While the cost of the program that spanned more than 25 years has never been officially disclosed, it is safe to say that it ran into billions of dollars when adjusted for inflation.
