Automotive Traveler Magazine: 2013 01 95 Years Of Chevrolet Trucks Page 7

For 1960, the Task Force pickups were replaced with the all-new C/K models (top), denoting half- and three-quarter ton configurations. The innovative but flawed Corvair Rampside (above) failed to catch on with compact truck buyers. The Chevy truck range continued to offer the versatile Carryall Suburban, which had few direct competitors in the truck-based station wagon category.

In 1967, the C/K models were new from bumper to bumper--and the result was an instant truck classic. New for 1967 was a Custom Sport Truck package (above), which offered upgraded exterior and interior trim that could be combined with a bucket seat option. One of the most important spin-offs came with the mid-year introduction of the Blazer in 1968. The magazine ad for the 1970 models (left) emphasized the flexibility of the Blazer with its fully removable hard top.
