The author's first encounter with Chrysler's Turbine Car came when he saw one driving through his neighborhood as a nine-year old growing up in New Jersey. At the time he thought he was looking at a customized Ford Thunderbird. He was able to properly identify the car just a few weeks later when he visited the New York World's Fair in May of 1964.
