Café Bar Califa was always open when I needed it. And while it's a small town, La Herradura does have several other wonderful beachfront restaurants for relaxing over lunch or dinner.

By midweek, I had settled into a routine. Mornings at Café Bar Califa, evenings at Café Music Pub Califa. I'd arrive laden with a bulging backpack, stuffed with 12 pounds of paper and electronic items that were, of course, all equally necessary.

Most of my days were spent people watching and conversing with anyone willing to talk about their life in this idyllic town. I became such a "regular" that, when I'd walk in, Bele`n would automatically hand me one of the restaurant's extension cords so I could plug in my computer. That's how friendly these folks are.

Few places I've been let you unwind as La Herradura does. It's the perfect spot to mellow out. Only in a place like this will you see someone threading their way through the narrow
