At "Fat Paulie's Festa Italiano" our first night, we enjoyed a made-to-order pasta bar, fresh shrimp, and my favorite, tiramisu. Saturday's dinner theme was the "Strip Night" steak house. Non-red meat offerings were available, but we decided to partake of a nicely marbled rare rib eye and a slightly more well-done sirloin. As for breakfast, scrambled eggs and fixings delivered to the room with a bottle of bubbly were just the right way to get the day started.
While some of the organized events at Paradise Stream require a "nominal fee," many are included at no charge. Friday night's entertainment featured a comedian and a Four Seasons tribute band, adding to our enjoyment of this Way-Back Machine. Big girls don't cry...
On Saturday, we opted for snowmobile lessons followed by ice sculpting. We felt like kids again as we raced through the manmade snow track. (Did I mention this was a spring getaway with temps in the 50s?) As for our budding careers as sculptors, we were one of seven couples who grabbed sharp implements and started hacking into blocks of frozen water. About an hour later, seven pieces of beautiful artwork emerged, among them a tribute to professional football, two hearts, and our dog... or pig... or cat--we're not really sure.
