Need a Christmas gift for the Mrs.? Chevrolet is building 100 special-edition convertibles for sale exclusively through Neiman Marcus's 84th annual "Christmas Book"--the luxury retailer's ultra-glossy catalog of fabulously photographed fashion, accessories, and fantastic "must-have" holiday items.
The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible comes in a custom Deep Bordeaux color with ghosted rally stripes. "In low light, it appears almost black with a touch of deep violet," Chevy design director Tom Peters says of the tri-coat, metallic paint. "In sunlight, a little bit of red and burgundy appear."
The convertible fabric top is color-matched to the paint, and the windshield frame is finished in matte silver--both features exclusive to the Neiman Marcus edition. Inside, black leather side panels and red stitching set off amber leather seating surfaces. Red accents appear on the center console, the steering wheel, and the shift knob. The dash and door panels sport the Deep Bordeaux.
Equipped with a 6.2-liter, V8 engine, the Neiman Marcus Camaro is available with a six-speed manual transmission (426 h.p. and 420 ft.-lb. of torque) or a six-speed automatic (400 h.p. and 410 ft.-lb. of torque).
Reservations for this special-edition car (catalog price: $75,000) will be taken starting 19 October 2010 at noon EST by telephoning (877) 662-6276. You won't need to worry about finding one of those car-sized red bows, though. Delivery won't be until next Spring.
