If you love classic, early four-cylinder Porsche 356s, Dana Point was the place to be this weekend
On the grounds of the Lantern Bay Park in Dana Point yesterday, more than 200 Porsches were gathered. And when the judges' score sheets were tallied, it was Danny McKenna who walked away with the top three awards--Judges' Choice, People's Choice, and Best of Show--for his freshly restored, black 1962 356 convertible. The car scored 299.5 points out of a possible 300 overall. Congratulations to Danny.
As far as photography was concerned, the weather was perfect, with heavy overcast skies early in the morning giving way to bright sunshine as the 1:00 p.m. awards ceremony approached. If you love early Porsches, you'll want to check out the 250 photos from the 2010 Dana Point 356 Club Southern California Concours d'Elegance now available in the Automotive Traveler-Fotki Image Gallery. For information on the event itself, visit the 356 Club Southern California website. |
